Do You See What I See?

I was inspired to take this angle on the holiday after listening to my favorite Xmas song,“Thanksgiving at McDonald’s in Times Square” by Josh Alan Friedman (hear it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLou0L_4hbE). I was almost done drawing it when I realized that I had now made my first Christmas card. Woot woot.
When I was a kid this was always and only called a “nativity scene.” Somehow the term “crèche” has become common in recent years, so I need to remark on the fact that crèche in zoology refers when animals are taking care of young that are not their own. I guess that would certainly apply to Joseph.
Some might recognize the little drummer boy, the famous T-Square personage Gene Palma, who used to be a common sight pounding away on his snare, mail boxes, or whatever was handy.
The guy at the top right is the one whose sacred holiday was usurped by the Christians in Roman times, Saturn.
